The 1975 British band The Malaysian Festival paid £2 million after kissing on stage

The British band’s performance on the first day of the three-day festival in the capital, Kuala Lumpur, was halted at the end of last month after a controversial kiss between frontman Matty Healy and bassist Ross McDonald. According to David Mathew, the festival organizer’s legal advisor, much of the FSA’s claims are attributable to singer Matt’s breach of contract. “Healy’s representative emphatically gave written assurance prior to the show that he and the 1975 live performer ‘will adhere to all local guidelines and regulations as well’ while performing in Malaysia,” he said.
