What time does the Formula 1 Grand Prix of America start?
Formula 1 teams will head to Austin, Texas this week, where the drivers will face another sprint race this weekend during the United States Grand Prix. For us, that means it’s going to be late.
Here’s everything you need to know this race weekend
There is so much more to enjoy
Max Verstappen had two weeks to celebrate after winning his third consecutive world title. But if anyone thinks that racing gets boring after winning the world title and the constructors’ title, they’d be wrong. There is much more to contend with in the future.
Chasing records
Max Verstappen already has the world title in his pocket, but with five more GPs scheduled he could break other records this season. For example, the World Champion could improve on his own record of fifteen Grand Prix victories in one season. Max is currently at fourteen, so could reach the same level this weekend.
He can increase the number of pole positions in a season. Sebastian Vettel, who has topped fifteen times, has now achieved that record. Verstappen’s counter is now at ten o’clock.
Backward sprintrace
Max Verstappen has won at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin for the past two years, but things will be a little different this year. For the first time in history we will once again be treated to a sprint race. This means we will already qualify on Friday. The sprint race takes place on Saturday and the competition on Sunday.
The race starts at 2:00pm local time but doesn’t start until 9:00pm due to the time difference. The full schedule for this weekend can be found below.
