With the announcement of Challenge Cap Québec a month ago, the Challenge Family finally returned to North America, but after today there’s even another race in the program in a country of limitless possibilities. The Challenge Family announces the New Jersey State Triathlon Challenge.
The new tournament will take place on July 20-21, 2024, and will focus on shorter-distance races, like Challenge Barcelona and Challenge Istanbul. The tournament already exists and attracts around 3,500 athletes each year, meaning the event is always sold out. From next year, the race will be run under the Challenge family banner for the first time. The course is flat and fast.
“For many of our athletes, this race will be their introduction to the sport of triathlon. What a way to start such a prestigious international competition right away,” said Race Director Michael Redrow. With many more extras.”
Challenge Family CEO Jord Villam adds. “We’re excited to be back in the U.S. and we couldn’t have asked for a more enthusiastic team.” During the competition – above the Olympic distance – you can qualify for the Challenge Family Championship. This is the first time this has been possible in a race shorter than the middle distance. “The top three athletes in each age group will qualify. “The championship is about celebrating success and the challenge is about family inclusion. Now by inviting the best short-term athletes to The Championship, we’re giving them the opportunity to be a part of our flagship event.
