Producer Fred Bott was “moved to tears” when performing the opening song Orange soldier By former skater Michel Mulder on RTL Stars on stage. Mulder stole the show with his song on Friday night and told how important the song is to him.
The athlete said that a large benign tumor was recently discovered in his head.
“I knew he was going to sing the song,” Bott says. “We talked about it previously when I spoke to him at the premiere of his film Jesus Christ is a star. I complimented him on his performance in the first episode and said it was very special that such a great skater had another great talent.
In the opening song, Eric, the main character, sings about how precious life is. The producer was surprised that he “heard Michel sing some notes differently than the 25 Erics we've had over the past 13 years. This last one gave me goosebumps in a way I don't often.”
The idea of asking Mulder to audition briefly crossed his mind, producer Bott admits with a laugh. “But I have no idea how much acting experience he has and what he can do on stage other than singing,” the man explains. Orange soldier Outside. “The role is 30 percent singing and 70 percent acting. At 37 years old, he may be a little too old to play a schoolboy.”
