OML viewers shed tears during Jeffrey's funeral | RTL Street

This time Jeffrey's funeral is shown in the final episode of “Over My Corpse”. He died last year on November 13 from colon cancer and is survived by his wife, Trudy, and their two children, Max and Meryl. This last fact in particular shocks viewers deeply: they cannot stay dry when they see his wife and children walking in front of the hearse.

“I fought like a bear”

That Geoffrey is well loved is shown by the endlessly long funeral procession on the day of his funeral. Trudy, Max, and Meryl walk in front of the hearse while a lot of fireworks are shot into the air. Geoffrey was very popular as head coach of Aspirin Football Club. His friends, family and fellow villagers pay their last respects to him.

The special coffin, which was decorated by his sons in a previous episode, is now carried by his sons and family as well. With Meryl in her arms, Trudy turns to Jeffrey one last time. ''You are my friend and I must let you go. I really have to do it, because I don't want to,” she says, crying. I don't know yet how I'm going to do it. But I'll make you proud. But honey, also know how proud I am of you. How brave you were, you fought like a bear. You've always been so strong “So strong, powerful and direct. You were everything I could have hoped for. I know the children will remember their loving father. I love you, my dear, until we meet again.”
