Luxembourg will participate in the Eurovision Song Contest again after 30 years

“Thirty years after Luxembourg’s last participation in 1993, the government believes that a return to the most important music competition of all time provides an excellent opportunity to reaffirm the Grand Duchy’s European and international spirit in the field of media and music,” the statement read. The broadcast of the Eurovision Song Contest, the selection of the candidate and the participation of the Luxembourg delegation will be in the hands of the Luxembourg broadcaster CLT-UFA, which is a member of the European Broadcasting Union. More information on how Luxembourg selects the entrant will become clear in July 2023.

Luxembourg abandoned syndication after 1993 because it had become too expensive for the relatively young Radio Luxembourg. The last participant was the Modern Times band, which got the twentieth place with the song Donne-moi une chance. Luxembourg has participated more than 37 times, of which it has managed to win five times.
