James Webb telescope finds possible evidence of dark stars | Sciences

The heavier the star, the more likely it is to turn into a black hole. Therefore, as dark stars age, they are likely to explode into supermassive black holes.

This would explain not only why there are so many black holes in the universe, but also why no dark stars have been found yet.

It is said that these stars are billions of years old and are many light years away from them. Until the launch of the James Webb Telescope, we hadn’t been able to look this far into the past.
