Galloper Stud Farm has sold the KFPS stud book stallion Willem 508 (Hette 481 x Folkert 353). The eight-year-old stallion will continue his career at Rancho El Centenario in Mexico, where he is now located.

Willem 508 is one of the stallions that was allowed to show its first group of progeny this year in the first viewing and registration in the studbook and proficiency tests. The three-year-old star stallion Matz fan de Groenesteegh, who has been rated AAA in the ABFP, is one of his record holders. In the last inspection season, six mares became stars. However, owner Stoeterij Galloper decided to sell the stallion.

Copper is finished

“We are very satisfied with the performance of Willem’s offspring,” says Joey Lims of Stoeterij Galloper. “But the buyer comes along and then you start thinking about the amount of breeding he’s going to get, knowing that a number of new stallions will be added this year. He can then do more to breed in Mexico.”

180 grandchildren

Willem 508 was bred as Wullem van de Meikade by breeder Willem Luckhorst. The stallion comes from the first crop of his sire, Hetty 481, based in South Africa. At the end of 2018, Willem 508 was approved after he was invited to take the central exam due to his high score in the ABFP test. Willem 508 received 79.5 points for the saddle test and 80 and 76.5 points for the driving portion. In this sport, he was taken to dressage Z1 by Sabine van de Loenhorst. In total, the stallion produced approximately 180 offspring.
