Inflation in the United States has risen significantly in recent months. According to macro-economist and PNR economist Keys de Court, the time has come to do something about it because life is not better for Americans.
Due to inflation, consumer prices are almost 5.5 percent higher than last year. The lives of many Americans are not better. Their purchasing power is under pressure. Wages increase somewhat, but benefits are adjusted only once a year, ‘de Court says.
“The central bank has indicated that inflation may be somewhat temporary, but if it persists, they will have to do something. It’s not going well in the financial markets.”
Budget deficit
The budget deficit is also huge: already $ 2,500 billion. This is 12 percent of U.S. gross domestic product. You should not be surprised if the economy grows by about 6 per cent, ‘says De Court.
In addition, manufacturer prices are rising due to the disruption of the production and distribution chain. De Court ‘has experienced traffic congestion on U.S. ports and railroads. So all sorts of hurdles have arisen in distribution so that companies cannot get what they want at the right time and in the right place. ‘
