The 2025 Track Cycling World Championships will not be held in Argentina, but in Chile. The UCI has awarded the World Championship to Santiago, the capital of the South American country. The dates of the Track Cycling World Championships remain unchanged: October 15 to 19, 2025.

In the autumn of 2022, Argentina was the first, because for the first time the World Cup will descend on the slopes in the country of Maradona and Messi. However, the San Juan provincial government suspended World Cup plans last month. According to Argentine media, financial problems and high costs for the event influenced that decision.

With San Juan out, the UCI had to urgently search for a new venue for next year's Track Cycling World Championships. Santiago, Chile is happy to accept the challenge and will host the World Cup at the Velodromo Penalolan, also known as the Santiago Velodrome. The stadium has a capacity of 3,000 spectators and was already part of the World Cup circuit in the winter of 2017 and 2018.

The 2024 Track Cycling World Championships will be held from October 16-20 in Copenhagen, Denmark at the Ballerup Velodrome.
