Fatah: The sale of Pink Floyd music rights stopped due to the quarrel

The English band planned to sell the music rights for $500 million. According to the Financial Times, big names were already among those interested, including Blackstone, Sony Music and Warner Music. The sale has now been delayed for several months due to differing opinions on, among other things, tax regulations.

In addition to this, Roger Waters lives in the United States and other band members are in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Waters has had a difficult relationship with David Gilmore for years. One of the exhibitors told the Financial Times that the strained relationship made it “impossible” to strike a deal. Another doubts that it will be possible to reach an agreement, as the band members constantly argue for no reason.

In recent years, more and more major artists have sold their music rights, such as Neil Young, Sting and Bob Dylan. They made hundreds of millions of dollars with it.

Pink Floyd was founded in 1965. The band was a huge hit with the 1973 album Dark Side of the Moon. Songs like Money and Another Brick in the Wall are among the band’s biggest hits.
