GEESTEREN – Gert Jan Brujneck won the 1.45m with a jump for the middle round with That Mie Z on Saturday, on the penultimate day of the 46th CSI Twente. And so the rider from De Lutte saw an emotional comeback at a high level in his region.
As the first player, Bruggink crossed the finish line after 46.80 seconds and the other seven favorites for victory gritted their teeth. American Isabelle Roscoff finished second, 1.3 seconds behind Picopello Full House Ter Linden Z.
Last year at Houten, Gert-Jan Bruggink actually won the international classification test. In his own environment, Gert-Jan Brüjnik has confirmed that he can once again compete at the level in the international equestrian circus, having fractured his left thigh at home on January 4, 2019.
The second stage of qualifying for the CSI3* Twente Grand Prix ended at 1.50m against the clock with a double English victory on Saturday. Samuel Hutton and his horse Alanin de Vins sprinted away from compatriot Robert Whitaker with his horse Firmiento by just over two seconds. Sander Jerink was third with an 11-year-old sepia-toned Global.
The two-stage 1.40m section on the CSI3* small round resulted in England’s Robert Whitaker’s victory with I’m Special Too DHH. Eric Ten Kit was 1.84 seconds behind the Englishman with Indindo. Samuel Hutton finished third with Melusina BVLZ.
