Why are Princess Madeleine’s children missing during the coronation ceremony in Sweden? Royalty

RoyaltySeveral royals gathered in Stockholm for the 50th birthday of Swedish King Carl Gustaf, 77. Among them was his daughter Princess Madeleine, 41, who flew in from America with her husband Chris O’Neill, 49, for the celebration. The absence of three younger members of the royal family is notable: Madeleine’s children are nowhere to be seen, leading to speculation and questions.

The fiftieth anniversary of the throne was a wonderful event. But while King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, 79, and Crown Princess Victoria, 46, looked stunning in royal attire, Princess Madeleine, 41, grabbed the spotlight in a different way. Although she made a positive impression with her husband Chris O’Neill (49), their three children Leonore (9), Nicholas (8) and Adrian (5) were noticeably absent. They didn’t drive from Florida to Stockholm with their parents to attend the party.

The Swedish press was quick to speculate about the reason for their absence. It has been suggested that the absence of royal titles may have played a role. Some media went so far as to report that Madeleine’s children were simply “not welcome”. There was much buzz in the press that the Swedish court had finally responded to the absence of children.

Who will look after the children?

The court told royalty magazine ‘Svensk Tomdining’ that school commitments in Florida prevented the children from attending the anniversary. The official reason was that “the children had school during the anniversary and therefore could not be in Sweden”. Since education is compulsory for the first thirteen years in the United States, children must not miss days of school. However, who cared for the children in the absence of the parents remains a mystery.

However, Princess Madeleine and her husband’s visit to Sweden was short-lived. According to the ‘Expression’ newspaper, the couple flew back to the US two days after the party. Neither Princess Madeleine nor Chris O’Neill have issued any statements regarding the situation and the absence of their children.
