Warner Music is making a film about singer Edith Piaf using artificial intelligence. Movies & Series
Warner Music Entertainment is working on a film about the life and career of Edith Piaf. The company does not use an actress, but uses artificial intelligence (AI) to bring the French singer to life.
With the permission and cooperation of relatives of Piaf (1915-1963), known for her hit songs such as non, I don’t regret it nothing in Blooming lifeHer voice and likeness were used in the film.
According to Warner Music, the technology was trained through hundreds of videos and photos. “The animation provides a modern look at the story, while the use of archive footage, theatrical and television performances, personal footage and television interviews gives the audience an authentic look at key moments from Piaf’s life,” the company said in announcing the project.
Relatives describe it as special and touching to see the singer again and hear her voice. “The technology made us feel like we were back in the room with it. The animation is beautiful and through this film we can show the true side of Edith.”
The news about the biopic is great, because Hollywood just completed actors’ and writers’ strikes, partly over better agreements to use artificial intelligence in films and TV series.
