Lionel Messi will soon settle in MLS. Argentina signed a contract with world champions Inter Miami FC. It is expected to be offered in American style soon.
In America, people are busy organizing Messi’s presentation. According to Athletic Is that presentation already next Sunday? MLS is in talks with various parties, including CONCACAF, broadcaster FOX and Univision, to use the Gold Cup final as a stage. Messi’s new boss Inter Miami has already announced a major event on Sunday evening.
Inter Miami called the inserted activity “exciting entertainment” without mentioning Messi by name. However, the speeches are announced on the field of their home ground. During half-time of the Gold Cup final in Los Angeles, television viewers will have to switch to Messi’s appearance.
FOX and Univision are trying to combine the two operations into one big show. MLS is happy to co-operate with this as it feels it will drastically increase the impact of Messi’s entry. The parties seem to find each other quickly, and the scene seems to follow Athletic.
Messi is expected to arrive in Miami on Tuesday. Official announcement of his move to MLS is awaited first. An official presentation to millions of television viewers in the United States is to follow on Sunday.
USA will play Panama in the Gold Cup semifinals. Mexico will face Jamaica in the other semi-final.
