OFFICIAL: This is Lionel Messi’s salary in America at Inter Miami
Major League Soccer in the United States announced the salaries of all players in MLS on Wednesday evening. Who else but Lionel Messi (Inter Miami) is on top. Also in the top 10 are Lorenzo Insigne, Xherdan Shaqiri and Christian Benteke.
Messi, who left Paris Saint-Germain for Inter Miami last summer, is the highest-paid player in MLS with a league-record guaranteed annual salary of $20.4 million (about 19.4 million euros).
Over 50 million dollars
Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas told Spanish newspaper El Pais that the total for Messi, including part of the MLS deal with Apple TV, would be more than $50 million.

Messi’s guaranteed salary is the highest in MLS history. This makes him better than Lorenzo Insigne (Toronto FC). The Italian attacker is in 2nd place in the ranking with 15.4 million dollars (14.6 million euros).
Big names, big salaries
Xherdan Shaqiri (Chicago Fire/€7.7 million), Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (LA Galaxy/€7 million) and Federico Bernardeschi (Toronto/€6 million) complete the top 5. The other two big names at Inter Miami, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, earn $1.775 million (€1.7 million) and $1.25 million (€1.2 million) respectively.
