Motorcycle racer Kevin Schwantz returns to the TT circuit after thirty years during the Classic GP Assen

American Kevin Schwantz, world champion in the 500cc class in 1993, is back on the TT circuit 30 years after his last win in Assen. He is coming to the Classic GP Assen which will be held next year from September 8th to 10th.

Classic GP announced Wednesday that “Revven” Kevin will race both a Pepsi Suzuki RGV500 and a Lucky Strike Suzuki RGV500. “What Valentino Rossi has meant to fans at Assen in the past decade, Kevin Schwantz has meant in the early 1990s.”

The driver from Texas is known for his wild driving style. This made him a favorite with audiences all over the world. Schwantz was for many years a banner for the Dutch Grand Prix.

MotoGP legend

The circuit in Assen suited him well, as he recalls organizing the Classic GP Assen. He made his Grand Prix debut there in 1986 and won the TT race at least three times. He scored his last victory on the grounds of Drenthe in 1993, the year he became world champion.
