The American superhero film Wonder Woman was released in 2017. The film was a huge success and grossed more than $800 million. But Gal Gadot saw little of those high paychecks.
Gadot was born in Israel and began her career as a model. She is best known for her role in the fourth, fifth and sixth parts of the film The Fast and the FuriousFilm series. In 2016, she first starred as Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

A year after her first appearance as Wonder Woman, the character got her own movie. this movie, Wonder WomanIt was a huge success, grossing over $800 million against a budget of $120-150 million.
Gadot was already a famous actress in 2017, but she had yet to become the big star she is today. It did not become so until after its success Wonder Woman. However, the salary she received for the film was remarkably low.

As the lead actress, Gadot earned approximately $300,000 for her role. This is of course a good amount, but it is relatively small when compared to other major stars of the superhero genre.
Another reason this amount is so low is because the years around 2017 were the peak of superhero movies. Each film made huge profits and it would have been nice to compensate the lead actress appropriately.

A second film titled Wonder Woman 1984 was released in 2020. Unlike the first part, this film was not a huge success and was a flop. With a budget of $200 million, only $169 million was raised. So a big loss.
Gadot received a significant pay raise for the sequel. After the success of the first part, this was well deserved. She got about ten million dollars for the movie. A good amount, but only half of what the men get in most movies. So there is still a lot of room for improvement.
