Elaine Thompson-Herrah wins 100m in Diamond League | other sports

Runner Elaine Thompson-Herrah won the 100m race at the Diamond League in Rabat, Morocco. The Jamaican Olympic champion clocked a best time of 10.83 seconds. She was ahead of Marie-José Ta Lou of Ivory Coast (11.04) and compatriot Natasha Morrison (11.22).

Kenneth Bednarek was the fastest in the 200 metres. The American came to 20.21 seconds. Luxolo Adams of South Africa came in second with 20.35. Italian Asiosa Faustin DeSallo won the bronze in 20.54 seconds.

Maureen Koster finished fifth in the 3000m. The 29-year-old South Holland had a personal best with 8.42.28. The victory went to Mercy Chirono of Kenya with a time of 8.40.29 seconds. Last month, Koster had already qualified for the World Cup in Eugene and the European Championships in Munich PR in the 5000 metres.

Karsten Warholm succumbed to injury in the 400m hurdles. The Norwegian Olympic champion and world record holder stopped his race after the first hurdle and tightened his thigh. American Khalifa Rosser won in 48.25 seconds.
