He started the top 900. At 9 a.m. on Friday morning, announcer Hubert Moll started with the 900, “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. Top 900 songs can be heard all week on Omroep Brabant. A record number of votes were cast this year.
New in top 3
There is no end to the popularity of the song “Guardian Angel” by Marco Schuittmaker. This year, suddenly, the song came in third place on Omroep Brabant’s Top 900 Songs list. Guus Meeuwis once again became the undisputed number one this year with “Brabant”.
Since the inception of the Top 900 in 2006, it’s never been different: Guus Meeuwis tops the list with our unofficial anthem. After Guus, Danny Vera came in second place with “Roller Coaster.”
Groningen’s Marco Schweitmaker performed the same as Jan Biegel, who came out of nowhere in third place last year with “Ons Moeder zeej nog”. This party’s score has fallen to fourth place this year. “Guardian Angel” sat high on the charts for weeks and was Marco Schuitemaker’s breakthrough hit. The song has Brabant roots, because it was written by Pierre Cartner in the 1970s.
