Julian Nagelsmann made a good debut as the national coach of the German football team. Germany won 1-3 against the USA in a friendly match at the Toronto FC Stadium. Nagelsmann took over from Hansi Flick, who had failed to win 5 consecutive training games.
The USA took the lead in the 27th minute after Christian Pulisic’s perfect blast (see video below). Ilkay Gundogan made it 1-1 just before the break for Germany. Niklas Fulkrug and Jamal Musiala scored 1-3 in the 2nd half.
Germany has been playing practice games recently because the country is organizing the 2024 European Championship so it won’t have to play qualifiers.
