Albergen – This year’s Bent Fiscal can be admired in the highest class of endurance racing. The 23-year-old driver from Albergen has signed a contract with Prema Racing.
Viscaal turned to long-distance racing in 2022, after five years in motorsport (including Formula 2), and entered the European Le Mans Series. In his first endurance race, Fiscal drove straight to the podium. Ultimately, Fiscal finished the season being named “Rookie of the Year”, ninth in the championship.
Triple
Viscaal has now been promoted to the highest class of endurance racing and has a seat at Prema Racing. American driver Juan Manuel Correa and Fiscal’s old teammate Philipp Ugran of Romania complete the driver trio, although Correa will miss some races due to his Formula 2 work. In those instances, Fiscal and Ugran will be joined by Italian driver Andrea Caldarelli.
Prema Racing is one of the most famous and successful teams in the racing world outside of Formula 1
“I am honored to be able to drive for Prema Racing in the WEC next year,” said Viscaal in reaction. “As a young boy I always watched the 24 Hours of Le Mans, a race that is part of the WEC Championship. Last year I actually had the chance to compete in that competition, and this year I can complete the whole year in the World Championship. That is the highest level that can be achieved for an endurance driver. Prema Racing is one of the most famous and successful teams in the racing world outside of Formula 1.”
The World Endurance Championship race year kicks off on Friday, March 17 with the 1,000-Mile Race from Sebring. The 24 Hours of Le Mans is the fourth event of 2023, starting on Saturday 10th June.
