The first two World Cups, in Montreal (October 28-30) and Salt Lake City (November 4-6), were selected based on performances in trials and at the Dutch Open. The selection committee of the KNSB Ski Association can also use the so-called pointer at any distance. If Schulting is fit, she will go to North America.

The World Cup consists of six matches. In December, short-track riders will be in action for two consecutive weeks in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In February, there is the World Cup finals in Dresden and Dordrecht within the programme.
