Ivar van Dentteren will be the new coach of Jong FC Utrecht. Jeroen Captijens tells this The telegraph. Here he succeeds Darij Kalezic, who has been at the helm of the Kitchen Champion Division for the past two seasons. Recently, Van Dentteren got the chance to work as a head coach at FC Emmen. He was still in the stands last week, but decided not to accept the offer. FC Emmen were relegated to the Premier League on Sunday night after losing to Almere City. The latter will debut at the highest level next season.
Van Denteren’s transfer was not yet completed but he has now given his grace to the club where he has also been active as a player. Here he played in the youth academy before moving to FC Groningen in 1997, where he would play for three years. Then he played successively for PEC Zwolle, RKC, Helmond Sport, Noordwijk and Dayton Dutch Lions (USA).
After his active career as a soccer player, he chose to work as a coach. He started in America at his last club, the Dayton Dutch Lions. Then he returned to the Netherlands and coached several youth teams of PEC Zwolle, was the coach of Jong Almere City and also the assistant coach of the first Almere City FC. He then worked as an assistant under Ron Gans at FC Cincinnati (USA) and then at FC Twente, where his contract was not renewed after three years.
