“I have a laugh”
Making action movies was new not only to Brood, but also to director Annemarie de Mond. “When asked, I laughed. I’m 60, a woman and have never directed an action movie.” They just thought of it Rotterdam Police I directed. “I suddenly liked those action scenes. De Mond was impressed with the collaboration with Netflix, where the film can be watched exclusively. “I got a lot of creative freedom as they think with what’s best for the movie.” Brood is also positive about collaborating with the streaming service. “We do a lot of great things in the Netherlands, but we are a small country. Thanks to Netflix we can show the world more and I think the actors are very happy with that.”
De Mond thinks opportunities are now open for Brood takeover It can be seen in 190 countries. “Foreign producers probably think of it when they’re looking for a kind of Northern European. I think it really is star quality she has.”
