A British newspaper reported that former British House of Commons Speaker John Bercow is moving from the Conservative Party to the Labor Party Watchman. His move was accompanied by a fierce attack on the current Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. Bercow was famous for the striking way in which he shouted “It’s up, or rrrr-doh-rrrr.”
According to Bercow, conservatives have become “reactionary, populist, and sometimes xenophobic,” he said in an interview with the Observer. Bercow resigned in 2019 after serving as Speaker of the House for 10 years. He says he went to the Labor Party a few weeks ago because he sees the party as the only way to get the current government out.

I am motivated by supporting equality, social justice and internationalization. “This is the Labor Party,” said Bercow. The Speaker of the House described Johnson as a “successful activist, but a poor executive”.
Bercow joined the Conservative Party when he was 17, and described himself as a “former fanatic right-winger”. By 2000, he had moved to the liberal international side of the party. When he became Speaker of the House in 2009, he had to cancel his membership.
During his tenure as president, Berko became less and less popular among party members. They did not appreciate his interventions against Brexit.
