SEGA is working on a reboot of Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio, according to Bloomberg. According to anonymous sources, it is related to “big budget” games and is part of SEGA’s Super Game initiative. With the Super Game, SEGA aims to create games with “recurring revenue.”
The new Crazy Taxi game has been in development for a year now, Bloomberg writesThe company aims to launch the game within two to three years. The publisher already indicated in the annual figures that it was looking into Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio. No target year has been set for Jet Set Radio. Sources confirm that the games are still in an early stage of development and therefore could still be cancelled.
The two games fall within the Super Game, a company’s plan to create games and “services” that can connect a “large community”. The Super Game should generate $780 million in revenue from SEGA and should generate “Fortnite-esque” revenue from SEGA. In addition to Crazy Taxi and Jet Set Radio, SEGA is said to be working on an FPS and another unannounced game. This photo frame is developed by a European studio.
