Aston Martin ‘can’t wait’ to test updates for US GP

As the season progressed, Aston Martin pulled out of the podium races and is now working on updates to get back on track.

In this case, new updates have been introduced for US GB.

Speaking before the weekend, coach Don Fallows was very optimistic about this.

“COTA will be a challenging circuit where we will continue to learn about the AMR23,” said Fallows.

“There are some updates as we head into the weekend and we’re looking forward to seeing how they play out.”

“In some ways it’s a shame it’s a sprint weekend because we would have liked to have had more time to see how the car would perform with these updates.”

“Getting that understanding as far as possible is going to be a big challenge.”

“We can’t wait to see how these upgrades work. Hopefully if we do everything right, we’ll have a track where we can be very competitive.”

Fallows says he has entered a critical turning point for next year.

“We’re in an important period to get the most out of this year’s car, while improving our understanding for next year. That’s why we’re making more updates this season.”

“Mexico is a real challenge with its high altitude and Brazil can be a chaotic race – especially with its variable weather conditions. So we have to make the most of every session.”

Fallows made no secret of his disappointment with the course of the season.

“We started the season well, but we were disappointed with the way the last races went.”

“However, this experience has taught us some valuable lessons that we will try to take into next year. We can see where we went wrong with the car balance. We also understand why it hurt our overall performance.”

“The key now is to make sure we don’t repeat the same mistakes; this is definitely a learning year.”
