A pair of players from Down Under helped their sides to crucial points in the second-tier Championship last week, with Aaron Mooy and Chris Wood reconfirming their status as two of the competition’s elite players.

For Socceroo Mooy it was an assist – his seventh of the season – for Huddersfield’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Barnsley, which left him as one of his team’s heroes once again.

Meanwhile New Zealand marksman Wood scored Leeds United’s only goal in a crucial 1-0 win over sixth-placed Sheffield Wednesday.

The goal was Wood’s 20th for the season as Leeds push to put themselves in a position to gain promotion to the Premier League.

In other action 24-year-old Melbourne defender Bailey Wright played the full match for Bristol in a 2-2 draw with Newcastle, while in League 1 James Meredith helped Bradford City to a 2-1 win over Port Vale.

Over in the Netherlands, All White Ryan Thomas played a full game for PEC Zwolle, putting in a solid performance for the 13th-placed side.
