There’s  a few pundits willing to talk up the British and Irish Lions’ chances of a boilover when they head to New Zealand to take on the All Blacks next year.

Throwback Thursday takes a look back at arguably the finest Test performance by a flyhalf by arguably the greatest No.10 of all time, Carter’s utter dismantling of the touring Lions during their last visit to New Zealand, at Wellington’s Westpac Stadium in 2005.

Carter was untouchable, scoring two brilliant tries, setting up another for Tana Umaga with a dazzling run and offload, and slotting four conversions and five penalties for a staggering 33-point haul in the 48-18 thrashing.
