The new daily game show “What a Day!” premiered Monday night and social media reactions immediately poured in. Not everyone was as excited.

“Having to get out of bed and stick your head out on TV for €1,500. Oh no, wait! Chance to win €1,500”

New show host Leonie ter Braak quizzes three famous Dutch people on their knowledge of the day’s news for the first time on Monday night. The idea? A light, informative show that viewers can take part in from their couch. The prize money? It doesn’t go to the celebrities, but to a random home winner who is surprised live on air by Quinte Misijan.

Opinions on the first broadcast are divided. Many viewers view Leonie’s appearance positively and find her a smooth and charming presenter. However, there are also some comments: Leonie’s nerves were clearly getting on her, which was especially evident in her use of the autotune. This made the show at times less spontaneous. But hey, that can be worked on, right?

Additionally, there was a QR code that viewers could play with at home. Unfortunately, it didn’t always work well. Sometimes the code was displayed for so short a time that many people didn’t even get a chance to participate. This caused a lot of swearing on the couch, as you can see from the reactions on X (formerly Twitter).

The show itself also received not only praise. Some viewers thought it was too superficial and lacked depth in the conversations. “The test is very slow and the conversations between them are completely meaningless,” one social media user wrote.

Another point of discussion was the home winner. There were doubts as to whether this “random” winner could really live anywhere in the country, given the short time it takes to ring someone’s doorbell. Moreover, the home winner ended the evening rather disappointed: he was rudely dragged out of bed and in the end without a prize. “Having to get out of bed and put your head on the TV for €1,500.” Oh no, wait! “Chance to win €1,500,” wrote one viewer.

Despite mixed reactions What a day! Potential for sure. The program still needs some development, but the foundation seems to be there. Every day of the week, Leonie and Quinty get a new chance to show what they have to offer.

Leoni was also allowed to participate in the program some time ago. For the same money She takes over from Natasja Froger. This was her first presentation job at her new employer RTL and she also found it very exciting:
