The Netherlands sends emergency pumps to France to combat floods outside
Two experts from the Rijkswaterstaat will leave on Thursday with two emergency pumps for the coastal cities of Dunkirk and Calais in northern France, which are suffering from floods. The Netherlands will send two more pumps to France later this week, which has requested help from the European Union.

The Netherlands has a total of twenty emergency pumps, half of which can handle 5 million liters per hour and the other half 3 million liters per hour. The copies that go to France are of the stronger type.
The Netherlands also sent emergency pumps to France last year when heavy rains caused a nuisance there.
