Dutch flag skaters Lisa Bunchoten and Chris Foss carry the Dutch flag at the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games in Beijing. Chef Esther Verger has announced this as Head Chef.

We are pleased to work together for the future of sport. We think this is very important. It feels like a huge bonus and honor to be able to now carry the Dutch flag at the start of the Paralympics. “It’s definitely very special to be able to do this with Chris,” Bunchoten said.

Voss: It’s very nice to be able to do this as two ice skaters in the Netherlands. It motivates us even more to show what we both worked so hard for, just like other Paralympic athletes. We’re going to explode in Beijing.”

This will be the third games for both snowboarders. 26-year-old Ponchoten won a silver and bronze medal in Pyeongchang four years ago, while three-year-old Voss finished second in 2018. In 2014, neither of them competed for medals in Sochi.

The Paralympics will open on Friday, March 4th. The Paralympic Games end on March 13th.

Friday is the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Then the Dutch flag will be carried by figure skater Lindsay van Zandert and figure skater Kjeld Noyes.
