Last weekend, American director Martin Scorsese’s film Killers of the Flower Moon was the highest grossing film in Dutch cinemas. In addition, the fall holidays ensured that children’s films were also very popular.

Killers of the Flower Moon is three hours and 26 minutes long. This was not an obstacle for visitors to the Dutch cinema last weekend. The film has grossed €664,411 from its premiere on Thursday to Sunday. What played a major role in this of course was the star cast. Killers of the Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and others. Also notable is the fact that the film was commissioned by the Apple+ streaming service. However, the film will get a theatrical release first. Apple is using the same strategy with the movie Napoleon, which will be released next month. In previous products released by Apple+, the window was often several weeks.

Although the film does not appear in the official FDN chart, Taylor Swift: Eras Tour has once again performed well in cinemas. Last week, the film grossed 447,934 euros. Last weekend, Taylor raised €335,231 live. This is an excellent recipe and will earn fifth place on the list. However, the film is not published by an NDF distributor. Concert recording is very popular in the United States. Taylor’s obsession doesn’t seem to stop there, and the film even managed to keep Killers of the Flower Moon from number one last weekend. The latter was shown in 3,628 US cinemas and grossed $23 million at the box office. In the same period, the Eras Tour generated revenue of $31 million and played at 3,855 venues.

There weren’t a lot of new movies in the cinema last weekend. The weekend chart reached number one after only four premieres: Trolls in Harmonie (3), Saw X (4), Zomervacht (27) and Scary Girl (28).
