Queen Máxima shines during the King Willem I Awards Ceremony

Hail to Queen Máxima! Raise the flag, because today Maxima can put out 53 candles. We look at last night, when Her Majesty King Willem I presented the awards.

Her Majesty Queen Máxima presented the 2024 King Willem I Awards on Thursday evening 16 May. The awards ceremony was held at the De Spiegel Theater in Zwolle, where representatives of all nominated companies were present.

The King William I Awards are awarded every two years in the large, small and medium enterprise categories. The Sustainable Entrepreneurship Plaque is awarded to sustainable companies. In recent months, companies have signed up for the awards. Three finalists were selected in each category. Queen Máxima spoke to the winners after the awards ceremony.

The King Willem I Foundation was founded in 1958 on the initiative of De Nederlandsche Bank by a number of organizations of the business community. The aim of the foundation is to give the national economy new impetus and thus increase the prestige of the Dutch business community. The Foundation is supported by the Ministry of Economic and Climate Affairs and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management. Queen Máxima is the honorary president of the foundation.
