Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad appoints Tan Sri Wan Zulkifli Wan Arivin as the new Independent Non-Executive Director of its Board of Directors, effective October 1, 2023

Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad has announced the prospective appointment of a new independent non-executive director to the Board of Directors, Tan Sri Wan Zulkifli Wan Arivin (Tan Sri Wan Zulkifli). Tan Sri Wan Zulkifli’s appointment is effective from October 1, 2023. Tan Sri Wan Zulkifli has over 40 years of experience leading leading companies including Petronas, Malaysia Airlines Berhad and Malaysia Airlines Berhad.

His extensive experience spans areas such as management, leadership development, finance, regulatory affairs and economics. He has also served on the East Coast Economic Development Council, the Northern Corridor Implementation Authority, and the ASEAN Petroleum Council. Tan Sri has also served on the Oversight Board of the System Initiative on Shaping the Energy Future at the World Economic Forum (WEF), the World Economic Forum’s Oil and Gas Governors Forum, and the World Economic Forum’s Oil and Gas Working Group.

He is currently the Chairman of DRB-HICOM Berhad and Gas Malaysia Berhad. In addition to his extensive business experience, Tan Sri Wan Zulkifli has also made significant contributions to the academic field. He is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Razak College of Government, the Board of Governors of the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Economics and Management Sciences of the International Islamic University.

Previously, he was appointed as Assistant Chancellor of Petronas University of Technology, Member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Pentadpiran Awam (INTAN) and Industrial Consultant to the College of Engineering, University of Putra Malaysia. Tan Sri Wan Zulkifli holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Adelaide, Australia. He completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from the Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK.

Given his vast experience and proven leadership, the Group is confident that the appointment of Tan Sri Wan Zulkifli to the Board of Directors will be of great value in supporting the Group’s journey towards sustainable growth. The company will make the necessary announcements regarding the change in the boardroom as soon as the change becomes effective.
