Nerd Culture #153 at CinemaCon, Joker 2 and Fallout

Nerd Culture #153 at CinemaCon, Joker 2 and Fallout

a surprise! This week we have Episode 153 of Nerd Culture, full of news. Of course we talk extensively about Fallout, discussing Shogun, Mutant Mayhem, and X-Men '97. We also have trailers for Joker Folie a Deux, Dark Matter, and Tales of the Empire.

Amazon's Fallout game is very popular

This week it finally appeared Amazon Prime Video: Fallout. Earlier this week we were invited to an exclusive screening of the first two episodes. Our Daan is of course a huge Fallout fan and so was the right person, having missed the cookbook, to assess the value of this offering. Unlike many other streaming services, Amazon immediately put all eight, roughly one-hour episodes online, but in this show we only discuss the first two episodes including spoilers. Anyway, first impressions are very good. The show stays true to the game, the characters are likeable and Walton Goggins knocks it out of the park as the ghoul.

The premiere of Joker: Folie a Deux

This week there was also CinemaCon where a lot of news was released, but above all a lot of images were shown of upcoming projects including Marvel. Unfortunately, most of them are not yet available online, so you will still owe this one. However, it appeared just before CinemaCon Trailer for Todd Phillips' Joker: Folie a DeuxSo it's not all doom and gloom.

Announcing the live-action film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin

There's also a lot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles news. For example, Koos recently saw Seth Rogen's TMNT: Mutant Mayhem and has a lot to say about it. Additionally, Nickelodeon showed off more photos of the new animated series based on Mutant Mayhem. But of course we also have the icing on the cake today, because The Last Ronin is getting a live action movie. As you've already noticed, we're very excited about this spin-off comic book series and can't wait to see Ronin on the big screen. A video game based on the spin-off was also announced a short time ago.
