Soon Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 will likely be available again in the download stores. Games were pulled from digital shelves last year. It is not yet known when the games will be available again.
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 were pulled from sale last year because licenses for historical footage used in the games had expired. Konami entered licenses Renewal, but this means that games cannot be temporarily sold. The developer confirmed that the measure will be temporary and that the games will be back.
It looks like the games will be available again soon. In a tweet you can read Konami “Preparing to Resume Sales of Temporarily Unavailable Metal Gear Titles.” It will likely be the single, high-res versions of the Metal Gear Solid games mentioned above and the Metal Gear collections that contain the games, such as the 2011 Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection.
Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 debuted on November 13, 2001 and November 17, 2004 respectively, after which HD versions were released for multiple platforms.
