Groot is the lead character for South America at Gerstcircus The Hague

Producers of Groot Kerstcircus The Hague announce artists from Colombia and Brazil. The event takes place in Maliveld over the Christmas holidays – 23rd December to 7th January. “The selection of acts from South America is no coincidence,” says director Sandor Donnert. “The continent is known for its high-quality circus numbers, which are presented with great skill.” Dutch music star Bert Simhofer is the ringmaster in the new project.

The Great Christmas Circus The Hague has been in Hofstadt for over 30 years. “The public expects quality,” says Donnert. “We must be surprised again and again by special acts that appeal to the imagination.” That ambition brought him to Columbia. “In that country, we saw a group of acrobats dancing on two steel cables, one on top of the other, above the track. Such an act is both to the taste of the Dutch public and controversial. Also, this group has never been seen in this country before. We have something special about these acrobats.

Comedy

The humor in the show comes from South America. “We have paired the Brazilian comedian Pepe with the performance. He is the clown of our time. Not corny or boring, but really funny. He is typical of the show with his interludes. Two long cables hanging vertically from the tent – aerial acrobats and stunts on straws – Donnert notes. “All the world of action. come from the regions,” he continues. There’s also a Dutch entry. The show features composer Bert Simhofer as the singing ringmaster. Simhofer has starred in many major musical productions, but also in operas, movies and series. “With his majestic stature, he fits well into our circus setting.”
