Graspop 2024 evacuates camp sites after floods, and campers receive emergency shelter

Flooding will continue at Graspop 2024. Although the festival is working hard to keep the site available, it’s hard to compete with the endless rain. Some parts of the camps are now so bad that the festival is evacuating them.

A number of Graspop ‘Boneyard’ and ‘Inferno’ camp areas are now flooded to the point where camping is no longer possible. That reports VRT.

Therefore, the organization, local government and emergency services are now busy arranging emergency accommodation for all those affected, so that they can spend the night elsewhere. This includes looking at nearby accommodation.

The camp is closed to new visitors

Affected campers (hypothermia, wet materials, flooded tents) can report to the organization’s information stand (at the main entrance).

The campsite is now closed to new visitors. People still coming to the festival are asked to either return home or arrange their accommodation elsewhere.

The organization confirms that rain does not prevent the festival itself from being held. Everything is under control at the festival site, even though it is very muddy. “But the weather is perfect and it’s not raining anymore,” Mayor Chris Van Dijk tells Radio 2.
