Eva Jenek: “I get a huge salary, no salary structure” | RTL Street
Eva Jenek (45) says she gets a “big salary” at AVROTROS. There is no salary structure as previously suggested. “I don't get money from anyone but AVROTROS,” the presenter of the “Roos” program on NPO Radio 1 said.
“I get a different kind of life that suits me better.”
Eva replaced the RTL with AVROTROS at the beginning of this year. For some time, there have been rumors about a possible salary structure, where the presenter would also earn income through his own company, for example. Eva, who might earn many times more than a nonprofit presenter at RTL, would otherwise have had to give up a lot of money by switching. AVROTROS has previously disclosed the existence of a salary structure. Eva can earn a maximum of €233,000 at the broadcaster.
“It was also an unreal salary, that's quite true. It was amazing,” Eva says now of her time at RTL. “But the salary I get now is still a great salary. And I get a different kind of life that suits me better.” The talk show host says she thinks it's important to spend more time with her husband and children. “For me, this is a no-brainer.”
Eva will start her talk show after the summer, which starts at 7 p.m. The show can be watched four days a week for eight months. “I have not become someone else,” she says of the show’s content. “I am the same journalist I always was.” “I like great conversations that last a little longer than they have on my talk show in recent years.”
