Contractor defrauded Splinter Chabot of €100,000: 'Everything must be demolished' | RTL Street

Splinter Chabot (28 years old) was scammed out of one hundred thousand euros by a contractor who left without a trace. The presenter and writer said this on Sunday on the TV program “Ivo op Zondag”. The material was recorded on the occasion of Book Week two weeks ago, when Bart Chaput's son (69 years old) celebrated his birthday.

“The whole house isn't finished, you can't live there.”

“I bought a house in Amsterdam and was incredibly robbed by a contractor who disappeared and left taking a lot of money with him,” Splinter says. For this reason, he and his brother Storm, who is moving into the house with him, are living with his parents again for a while. “I always want to deal with setbacks positively. So I instructed my friends not to celebrate my birthday today, but to have a bankruptcy party. With cocktails and champagne. And a little Titanic, we hold ourselves to high standards.”

“The contractor scammed me pretty good,” Splinter adds. “The whole house isn't finished, you can't live there. He stole a ton, that's a lot of money. Everything he did should be torn down.”

The Chabot family takes center stage this week during Book Week. Father Bart, his wife and children co-wrote the Book Week giveaway. On the occasion of Book Week, the Hague family will visit twenty bookstores and theaters this week to give lectures, interviews and signing sessions. Anyone who buys €15 worth of books this week will receive the book from the Chabot family as a gift.
