Chiquita is investing in more reefer containers

Great White Fleet, a Chiquita Brands company, increased its investment in Carrier Transicold PrimeLINE® container refrigeration units based on the PrimeLINE units’ track record and energy savings. Carrier Transicold is part of Carrier Global Corporation, a global company for intelligent climate and energy solutions.

Great White Fleet recently added 800 PrimeLINE units for its banana transport. “Energy conservation is essential to our sustainable transport initiatives and we are pleased that this not only reduces fuel consumption related to internal power generation, but also reduces proportional emissions, helping to reduce our carbon footprint,” said Stefano Di Paolo of Great White Fleet. .

Primeline units are used on routes from Central America to North America. “Over the period of ownership, the energy efficiency of Primeline units can result in significant savings in terms of total life cycle cost,” said Kay Henze, account manager for global container refrigeration, carrier Transicold.
