Almelo – Luca de la Torre has been invited to the US A-Squad. Heracles Midfielder will play in three matches in the upcoming international tournament. “He’s good, we have less,” says coach Frank Wormouth.
“He will not return until the Friday before the game against the Go Ahead Eagles,” said Heracles coach. “To avoid injuries, it means he can’t participate. But of course it makes Luke happy, and it’s a compliment that he was invited,” Wormud says.
De la Torre, 23, came from San Diego and moved to England in 2013 to play at Fulham, where he did not go. Last year he moved to Heracles, where he became a basic player. The midfielder performed well against RKC last weekend.
Departed for Panama
De la Torrey now holds three exhibition games with the A-Squad of the United States. Before that, he played for youth teams and the B-team. “He was allowed into a match in the United States last summer, but was canceled because he wanted to enjoy the product at Heracles. We were so excited about that,” said Wormouth.
At the moment, the only international outing from Heracles is de la Torre. Caj Searhoeis, Mats Nuster, Orestes Giamortsoklo and Adrian Sok were international youngsters, but are now too old to be called.
