For some dog owners this has been a mystery for years: How could their four-legged friend suddenly disappear? At least five dogs could be linked to a ‘cut’ shot alligator in Charleston, south of the United States on Thursday. A bullet, spark plug and several turtles were found in the animal’s stomach.
One of the owners can be notified via the phone number that was on the found token. “The owner said he hunted in the area 24 years ago and that the tags belong to his beloved dogs,” meat processor Cortre said on social media. The US company’s experts last week were involved in the conservation of massive reptiles weighing more than 200 kilograms. “Those dogs ate, that’s for sure.”
The crocodile was shot by “private property” by a hunter and is said to have lived in the Edisto River. The age of the animal is estimated at 50 to 70 years. On social media, Americans wonder if such “predatory” animals are still “lurking in our waters.”
