Holiday park operator Green country parks The year 2020 closed with revenues of € 405 million, 35% less than in 2019. The holiday park provider expects more people to go on vacation at home in the coming years. Last year, 40% more holiday homes were sold to private investors through the subsidiary Landal Makelaardij. The company intensified its expansion in 2020 and announced 17 new holiday parks in the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark and the United Kingdom. In 2021, Landal GreenParks plans to expand further with a similar number of newly built parks acquired in European locations.
While summer sales (+ 22% from 2019) failed to make up for the other quarters, the company grew 11% more than the competition. The Netherlands performed better than foreign markets. They suffer from the closure of many parks and closed borders, while some Dutch parks remained open during the closure period.
By shutting down restaurants, Landal GreenParks developed new concepts to continue offering culinary offer to guests in the holiday parks. Think of the many fresh food boxes and dishes that guests can order online with the holiday home’s Landal app. For this purpose, 75 new online stores were built and the range was expanded with baking and cooking workshops in the holiday homes. Accelerated growth
The merger of Landal Makelaardij and holiday broker Landal GreenParks enables accelerated growth of the portfolio in the area of new construction projects. Strong increase in investment in leisure real estate
The demand for vacation homes has grown strongly this year. Detached and larger holiday apartments in spacious areas are especially popular. This is also reflected in Landal Makelaardij, where the sale of holiday homes has already increased by 40 percent in 2020. Growth is also expected in 2021, partly due to the sale of newly built holiday homes in new locations. In addition, a lot of mergers are expected at subsidiary Vakantiemakelaar, who took over at the end of last year. With nearly 700 vacation homes sold annually, the vacation real estate agent is the largest provider in the leisure real estate sector. The merger of suppliers created the largest entertainment broker in the Netherlands.
