From March 28, 2024, SWISS will introduce daily service between Zurich and Washington – all year round. Beginning May 10, seasonally scheduled service will be added between Zurich and Toronto. This flight operates five times a week. SWISS will use its A330-300 for both flights.
Lufthansa is also introducing new transatlantic routes. Starting June 4 next year, the airline will fly from Frankfurt to Minneapolis five times a week. Lufthansa uses the 787-9 on this route. From June 6, Lufthansa will fly five times a week between Raleigh-Durham and Frankfurt with an Airbus A330.
Additionally, German will fly from its second hub, Munich, to Seattle on May 30, 2024. Airbus A350-900 is used on that route.
Lufthansa is also resuming some routes from Munich to the rest of the world. For example, flights to Hong Kong will resume next summer, and the Germans will again fly from Bavaria to Johannesburg. Lufthansa last flew the last route in 2005. The A350 is used for both scheduled services.
