A piece of cake measuring approximately 20 x 20 cm is decorated with a royal emblem in red, blue and gold. It was introduced to Moyra Smith, a Clarence House employee, around the wedding in 1981, and was kept in packaging film and a cake box throughout.
Smith, who was employed by the Queen Mother, put a label on it “Treat With Care” and signed it dated July 27, 1981, two days before the official wedding date. Her family sold it to a collector in 2008, and they have now put it up for sale again.
