Cody Townsend’s crazy chute wins ski award

Free-skier Cody Townsend has claimed Powder Magazine’s coveted ‘Best Line’ award for this outrageous run down a steep, impossibly narrow chute in Alaska.

Even by extreme skiing/boarding standards, Townsend’s effort is bordering on insanity.

The wide shot of the Tordrillos Mountain Range is vertigo-inducing, while the GoPro vision from Townsend’s helmet makes you wonder how he didn’t smash himself on the rocky sides of the chute as he straight-lined it to free-skiing immortality.

The vision is from the award-winning film Days of My Youth.
