The Israeli army invaded the city of Jenin in the West Bank. At least eight people were killed, including a doctor and two children, according to Palestinian health authorities.
The dead doctor was specialist surgeon Aseed Jabareen, 50 years old, from Khalil Suleiman Hospital, supported by Doctors Without Borders. Doctors Without Borders project coordinator Ita Helland-Hansen told RTL News that the Israeli army shot the doctor dead while he was on his way to work.

Two children killed
Palestinian health authorities say that at least eight people were killed and 24 others were injured. RTL News Middle East correspondent Bibin Nagtzam says Jenin is a city in the West Bank where resistance to Israel is strong. “Since October 7, it has been the target of brutal raids by the Israeli army.” A total of 77 attacks have already been counted.
In addition to the doctor, a teacher and two minors aged 15 and 16 were also killed. Nagzam said that a number of journalists were injured. Israeli settlers have carried out numerous attacks on the occupied West Bank for some time:
The attack began yesterday at eight in the morning. “People were on their way to work and school,” Helland-Hansen said. The city has been invaded by troops, tanks and drones. Ambulance driver Hazem Masarwa told Reuters that undercover forces suddenly entered the area and started shooting. “They shot everything that moved.”
According to Nagtzam, there is great resistance from the Palestinian side. He added, “There is fierce fighting. It is a huge operation for which hundreds of Israeli soldiers have been deployed.”
The Israeli army surrounded Khalil Suleiman Hospital, where the dead doctor worked. Hospital director Wissam Bakr said: “It seems we are going through difficult times.”

Heavy bulldozers destroyed roads in the city of Jenin. “This often happens because of attacks,” says project coordinator Helland Hansen. “People who need urgent medical care cannot get to the hospital in time.” Due to numerous attacks, the health care situation in the West Bank has become increasingly bad.
